May 31, 2026 ā Full Moon in Sagittarius: Truth, Expansion & Forward Vision
The second Full Moon of May arrives in Sagittarius on May 31, widening the lens and asking us to look beyond what is immediately in front of us.
Sagittarius is traditionally associated with exploration, truth-seeking, belief systems, philosophy, education, travel, faith, meaning, and our desire to understand the bigger picture.
Where have you been thinking too small?
Where have you accepted someone else's definition of what is possible?
Where have your beliefs stopped evolving even though you have?
And where might you be so committed to what you believe that you've stopped examining whether it's actually true?
With the Moon in Sagittarius opposite the Sun in Gemini, this Full Moon illuminates the relationship between information and meaning.
Gemini gathers information.
Sagittarius asks what it means.
We need both.
Facts without perspective can leave us drowning in information.
Belief without facts can leave us committed to something that isn't true.
This Full Moon asks:
What do you believeāand what is that belief built on?
What This Full Moon May Bring Into Focus
The May 31 Full Moon supports reflection around:
-
Beliefs and worldview
-
Truth and honesty
-
Education and learning
-
Travel and exploration
-
Purpose and direction
-
Faith
-
Optimism
-
Long-term vision
-
Personal philosophy
-
Opportunities for expansion
-
Information versus interpretation
-
Beliefs you've inherited
-
Ideas you've outgrown
-
Where curiosity needs to replace certainty
Sagittarius invites us to look beyond the boundaries of what we already know.
But expansion isn't simply about thinking bigger.
Sometimes expansion begins when you're willing to admit:
I might need to think differently.
What This Full Moon Is Teaching You
1. Your Beliefs Deserve Examination
We all have beliefs we rarely question.
About money.
Relationships.
Success.
Spirituality.
Family.
Work.
Age.
What kind of life is realistic.
What kind of person we're allowed to become.
Some beliefs came from experience.
Some came from family.
Some came from culture.
Some came from fear.
Some came from something someone said when we were young enough to believe them.
And some were once useful but no longer fit who we've become.
Ask:
Do I believe this because I've examined itāor because I've repeated it for years?
You don't have to replace every belief tonight.
Just become curious about the ones shaping your life.
2. Truth Requires More Than Certainty
Feeling certain doesn't automatically make something true.
That matters spiritually.
Emotionally.
Relationally.
And practically.
We can become deeply attached to our interpretations.
What someone meant.
Why something happened.
What a sign means.
What the Universe is trying to tell us.
What another person is thinking.
Sometimes we're right.
Sometimes we aren't.
Sagittarius seeks truth.
Gemini reminds us to gather information.
Before building an entire story around something, ask:
What do I know?
What do I believe?
What am I assuming?
Those are not always the same thing.
3. Expansion May Require Becoming a Beginner Again
Growth can be humbling.
You may discover that something you believed for years is incomplete.
You may enter a room where you're no longer the expert.
You may study something that challenges your worldview.
You may travel somewhere that changes how you understand your own culture.
You may meet someone whose experience complicates what you thought you knew.
That's not failure.
That's expansion.
Being teachable doesn't make you less powerful.
It makes your understanding larger.
4. Faith and Action Can Coexist
Faith isn't pretending everything will work exactly as planned.
And optimism isn't ignoring reality.
You can believe in possibility while still looking at the facts.
You can trust yourself while still preparing.
You can hold a vision while still adjusting the plan.
You can hope while still doing the work.
Healthy faith doesn't require you to disconnect from reality.
It gives you enough room to imagine that reality can change.
5. Your Vision Needs Room to Grow
Sometimes we don't need a different goal.
We need a larger understanding of what's possible.
Maybe the business can become something you didn't originally imagine.
Maybe your work can reach people outside your current community.
Maybe you can learn something entirely new.
Travel somewhere unfamiliar.
Teach.
Write.
Study.
Create.
Begin again.
You don't have to know exactly where expansion will lead.
But you do need enough openness to recognize an opportunity when it arrives.
Spiritual Hygiene Under the Sagittarius Full Moon
Your mind is part of your energetic environment.
What you repeatedly consume affects what you think about.
What you think about affects what you notice.
What you notice influences the choices available to you.
This doesn't mean you can simply āthink positiveā and control everything that happens.
It means your information diet matters.
Ask yourself:
What am I constantly consuming?
Does it educate me?
Challenge me?
Inspire me?
Frighten me?
Confirm everything I already believe?
Keep me angry?
Keep me comparing?
Keep me distracted?
Spiritual hygiene can include becoming more intentional about the information you allow into your mind.
You don't need to consume every opinion.
You don't need every prediction.
You don't need to argue with every stranger.
And you don't need to turn someone else's certainty into your truth.
Protect your ability to think.
Featured Ritual: The Expansion & Discernment Bath
Start with the bath.
For this Full Moon, we're not using protection because expansion itself is dangerous.
We're creating space between your vision and the noise surrounding it.
You may use your own protection practice or The Regal Phoenix PROTECT Ritual Bath.
Before You Begin
Take a sheet of paper and write three headings:
WHAT I KNOW
WHAT I BELIEVE
WHAT I WANT TO EXPLORE
Under What I Know, write what is supported by your experience or available information.
Under What I Believe, write the beliefs currently shaping the area of life you're considering.
Under What I Want to Explore, write what you're curious about.
Don't try to resolve everything.
This ritual is about creating room for curiosity.
Then ask:
Which belief feels too small for where I am going?
Circle it.
Prepare Your Bath
Run your bath at a comfortable temperature and add your protection bath mixture.
If you work with crystals, you may place Clear Quartz, Lapis Lazuli, Amethyst, or another stone associated with your intention near the bath.
Keep crystals outside the water unless you know they are water-safe.
Dim the lights.
Remove distractions.
Before entering, say:
I protect my ability to seek truth while remaining open to growth.
As You Soak
Take several slow breaths.
Think about the future you have imagined for yourself.
Now imagine the horizon becoming wider.
Don't immediately fill it with goals.
Let there be space.
Possibility.
Places you haven't been.
Things you haven't learned.
People you haven't met.
Ideas you haven't encountered.
Versions of yourself you haven't become yet.
Then say:
I release beliefs that have become too small for me.
I remain open to truth, even when it challenges me.
I trust myself to learn, question, and grow.
I allow my vision to evolve.
I remain grounded while expanding.
My energy belongs to me.
Sit quietly.
Then ask:
What am I ready to explore?
Let curiosity answer before fear does.
Other Ways to Work With This Full Moon
Challenge One Limiting Belief
Write one belief that repeatedly appears when you think about something you want.
Maybe:
I'm too old.
I don't have enough money.
People like me don't do that.
It's too late.
I'm not qualified.
I always mess this up.
Now ask:
Is this an objective factāor a conclusion?
If it's a fact, work with reality.
If it's a conclusion, investigate it.
Find evidence.
Look for exceptions.
Ask what would have to change.
You don't need to replace it with an affirmation you don't believe.
Start with a better question.
Learn Something That Expands You
Choose a subject you've been curious about.
Read the book.
Take the class.
Attend the workshop.
Watch the lecture.
Study another culture.
Learn a language.
Research something that challenges your assumptions.
Let learning itself become the ritual.
Map the Bigger Vision
Give yourself permission to imagine the next twelve months without immediately asking how every piece will happen.
Write:
If I allowed myself to think bigger, I wouldā¦
Keep writing.
Then review your answers.
Choose one idea worth exploring practically.
Vision first.
Then discernment.
Then action.
Take an Intentional Walk
Go outside if you're able.
Leave the headphones off for part of the walk.
Look farther than you normally do.
Notice the horizon.
The sky.
The road ahead.
Let your body move while you think about one question:
Where do I want my life to expand?
Don't force an answer.
Walk with the question.
Have a Conversation With Someone Who Knows Something You Don't
Expansion often happens through other people.
Ask someone about their experience.
Their profession.
Their culture.
Their business.
Their travels.
Their expertise.
Their perspective.
Don't enter the conversation preparing your response.
Listen.
Curiosity is a spiritual practice too.

Meditation: Beyond the Horizon
Sit comfortably.
Close your eyes.
Take a slow breath in.
Exhale completely.
Imagine yourself standing somewhere with a wide, open horizon.
Maybe it's a field.
A mountain.
A beach.
A road.
You can see far into the distance.
Behind you are the places you've already been.
The lessons you've learned.
The beliefs that brought you this far.
Honor them.
Even the ones you've outgrown.
They were part of the journey.
Now turn toward the horizon.
Notice that you cannot see everything beyond it.
You don't know exactly what is there.
Take a breath.
Instead of trying to see farther, ask:
What becomes possible if I remain curious?
Wait.
You may receive a word.
An image.
A feeling.
Or nothing at all.
That's okay.
Take one step toward the horizon.
Then another.
Say:
I do not need to know everything before I explore.
I allow truth to expand me.
I remain open to what I have not yet learned.
Take three slow breaths.
Return your awareness to your body.
Open your eyes.
Message From the Full Moon
You are allowed to outgrow an old belief.
You are allowed to change your mind.
You are allowed to discover that the world is larger than what you've experienced so far.
Learn.
Question.
Explore.
Expand.
Your life doesn't expand because you convince yourself that anything is possible. It expands when you become willing to discover what else might be.
